CHANDLER, Ariz., Nov. 10, 2011 – /PRNewswire/ –
There are over 1.3 million U.S. Military veterans that are out of work. There are over 12 million veterans that are under-employed in remedial jobs that do not tap into their talents and abilities. These brave soldiers who have fought for our freedom, and have kept us safe deserve better.
The GOVETS Foundation is doing something about this by providing scholarships to veterans and their family members, and by offering entrepreneurial training.
“We wanted to give back to our veterans and their families for the incredible sacrifices they have made, by giving away scholarships. By completing a 250-word essay, they can register for a $2,500 scholarship to further their education,” states GOVETS Foundation CEO Brian Hazelgren. ”This will hopefully be a small token of our appreciation of the freedoms we enjoy in this great country.”
Scholarships are available to all U.S. Military Veterans, their spouses, and children. The online application can be accessed by going to http://www.govetsfoundation.org and only takes a couple of minutes to complete.
The deadline to enter the scholarship contest is December 31, 2011, and the winner will be announced with an additional press release on January 6, 2012.
In addition, through carefully crafted workshops and training camps, the GOVETS Foundation offers entrepreneurial training that has been the catalyst of launching thousands of small businesses. The materials and training system were developed by Hazelgren, and have been used to help launch new ventures around the world in many different industries. The training system is also available to U.S. Military Veterans and their families.
